The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of R chmond, nd3anr_,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board , Friday , July 2Sth, 1944 , at
9:00 o'clock A. M. Messrs.. --- Winfield Urbann, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; ,
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
The Board discussed the matter of various kinds of material waste
being disposed of from the Crosley Plant throught the eatitary Sewer
System and referred the same to City Attorney Keisker, City Ehgineer
Hodgin and Disposal Plant Superintendent Ed Ross for consideration.
A letter was presented to the Board from the Quaker City Realty Co.
Indianapolis, Indi.an.ay retnesting the Board to state what action they
should take in regard to hav*ng the curb repaired in 'front of the Tivoli
Theatre where the bus stop prevails. The same being referred to City
Attorney Keisker for recommendation.
_ A letter was presented to the Board•°frmm Rev. Bruce Bennett located.
at 1010 North 16th Street which was signed by four other interested
citizens requesting the Board to have repairs made to North 16th Street
below J Street. The same being referred to Street Commissioner Burkhardt.
The Board approved that a Special Meeting be held- with representatives
of the Insurance Co. for the purpose of discussing an engineering report
relative to the Sewage Disposal Plant, and the recommendations contained
therein4 said meeting to be held in the office of the Board of Ptblic
Works and Safety Monday July 31st, 1944 at 2:00 o'clock P. M.
The followa resolution was adopted and approved by the Board That;
From this date on it is mandatory that every Department Head report
within 24 hours to the Department of Law of the City of Richmond in
writing any accident involving any employee or City Equipment either
personal injury or property damage:
The Clerk was instructed to notify the liroper officials of the C& 0
Railway Co. of the bad condition of their crossings especially South
G Street.
The matter of an unusual amount of broken glass appearing in the alley
between Randolph & Lincoln Streets was referred to the Street Department.
After allowing claims in the amount of $18,52S`:47 on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
