FRIDAY, JULY 14TH, 1944
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday,_ July loth, 1944,
at 9s00 o'clock A. M. Messrs.-- Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and
S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the prec.ding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Ramsey Mc Donald of the Police Radio Station & James Kort-
wright,City Fireman appeared before the Board in the interest of
installing added equipment to the fire alarm system which would give
direct contact by radio.to each station, ther:m .tter of,installing
receiving sets on each fire.truck was also discussed-with the Board
and referred to Fire Chief & City Engineer. .
The Clerk was instructed to notify Robert Hudson that a grate was
loose in the rear of the Indiana Theatre which had been removed at times
by boys playing in the alley making a dangerous condition.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the property owners that the curb
in front of the Tivoli Theatre was in a very bad condition and needed
repairs ar once as the Busses'unloaded at this point and it created
a hazardous condition.
A letter was presented to the Board from the Arnott Exterminating
Co. stating their=would fumigate the property know as the Friendship
Home located at 306 South 10th Street.
A letter was presented to the Board from the Board off School
Trustees stating;
The Board. of School Trustees of the City of Richmond at its regular
meeting on July Sth, voted to notify you od its desire to renew`and
continue the contract for the occupancy and the use of. Civic Hal;as
a part of the Senior Play , for the year•. August 1,1944, to July 31,
1945. ,.
• This is in accordance with the terms of the original contract dated
April 3, 1939.

The Board approved the acceptance from the Insurance Company of one lir.

half of the amount of the claim on the installation of a hot water tank
at the Disposal Plant.
After allowing claims in the amount of $22,S96.57 on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
