OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF .RICHMOND, . INDIAVA,
FRIDAY , MAY 19th, 1944.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, May 19th, 1944,
at 9;00 otclock A. M. --Messrs. Winfield Urban and S. W. Hodgin
being present the following proceedings were had to-wits
•
. The minutes of the preceding ' meeting were read and approved.
A request to cut the Curb to' a width of 10 feet was granted to
Hobart J. Campbell , located at 303 College Avenue.
On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby the Board approved
the cttting of a tree located- in• front 'of the property owned by Mrs. Lillie
E. Genn 120 South 10th Street.

• Sttreet-Superintendent Karl Meyers requested the Board to make recommendation
• for the purchase of, a chip and sand spreader. for the' use of the Street Depart-
ment , the same being referred to City Attorney Keisker .
The following report was presented to the :Board by Building Inspector
Stanley C. Smith in regard to repairs at the Police Radio Station. •
Gentlemen ;
Sills and weatherboard in the garage rotted very badly.
6n insicl-e-rof,'.garage the plaster is all loose and comming off about 2 feet
from the floor. In the basement a floor joist has -been cut into. A window
glass. is broken in the garage. After these repairs' are made. the building
should be painted, •

The matter was referred to the City Engineer and Building Inspector
for recommendation. •
A request was presented to the Board b'3rmembers of the Vetrans of
Foreign Ware to insta_1i 'decorations along MainStreet during a convention
in the City to held June 97i .41O, 1944 , the same being reffered to
the City Attorney for recommendation9
A report was presented to the Board in regard to the removal of inlet
tops on the Sewer back of Earlham College some•of them having been intirely -
removed from the premises, the same being reffered to Police Chief Ellis
Duckett.
The matter of material being dumped under the Bast end of the Doran
Bridge which might create a hazard was reffered to City Engineer Hodgin.
' After allowing claims in the amount of $1,665.11 on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
