CITY,OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, • • FRIDAY MAY 5TH, 1944: • The Board of:Public Works and Safety of the' City of Richmond,• • Indiana, met. in the officeof said Board, Friday May 5th,- 1944., at '9:00 o'clock A. M. Messrs. Winfie1drtUrban, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; • • • The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. • A report was presented to the Board in regard to' the improvements which were ,necessary at the Police Radio Station to the, building and etc. the'same being referred to the Building Inspector for recommendation. On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board' approved the temporary appninttent'off.Mauricek•Edward Wise as a member of the Fire • Department effective May 16th, 1944, at a salary of $1S5.00 per month. • On .the recommendation of Park Superintendent Joseph Frisby the Board approved the cutting of a tree by Robert Sudhoff located at 115 , Southwest 15th Street. The Building Inspector reported to the Board that it would be necessary to dig up the alley in order to repair the sewer tile that carries the Water from the Police Department Garage, the same being referred to the Street Department to make such repairs. • A letter was presented to the Board fromether.Miller Bros. Hardware Co. requesting the Board to establish sra.ce in front of their place of business located on Fort Wayne Avenue along'Ith'e 2cprbr>-de:signating no parking except for • loading and unloading their merchandise. The matter was referred to the Traffic Division for consideration. • The Board approved a rider being attached to the Insurance Policy already in affect which provides Liability Insurance f6 the'various drivers operating Fire Trucks, for the' City of Richmond, Indiana, providing the sum does not exceed the sum of $150.00. • The matter of Washing the walls in the rooms of the Board of Works and the office of the City Clerk was referred to the Building Inspector- for recomme- - ndation. , The. Street Superintendent was instructed to confer with the.' City Engineer and prepare specifications for sewer pipe fhr!Ahenrepairofthe sanitary sewer leading from Kinsey Street and to ask for proposals for the furnishing of the 111 same. letter was presented to the Board. from Max Mikula stating he was the owner . of lots 224-225 & 226 Eariham Heights Addition , 1612 West Main Street and re- . quested permission to tap into the City Sewer , as the present system was not satisfactory. The matter was referred to the City Engineer for. consideration. After allowing claims in tha amount of $8,927.81 on proper motion the Board adjourned. • Attest• _ .
