CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA.,
FRIDAY, APRIL. 28,1944.
The Board of Public Works, and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana,
met in the office of said Board., Friday, April 28th, 1944 , at 9:00
o'clock A, 119 --- Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby the Board a.nproved
the cutting of a. tree in front of the proprO located at 1008 South J
Street , by Lawrence Rottinghouse.

The Board unanimously approved the purchase of a Faulk Coupling for a
blower at the Disposal Plant from Roots Co. , Connersville, Indiana.
The following letter was presented to the Board from Robert J Anderson.
Genyl emen; -
I Hereby tender you my resignation as a temporary fireman,
effective May 1st, 1944 my reason for so doing is the reoccurance of the
disabiliity received in the present war.

On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board approved.
and accepted the resignation of Robert J. Anderson from the City Fire Dep-
artment, effective May 1st, l944.
On the recommendatiof ,'olice Chief Duckett the Board approved the
cancellation of the leave of absence of Dan Johnson from the Police Depatt-
m_ent and placed him on active duty in the said Department, he having received
his discharge from the U. S. Navy - effective May 1st, 1944.
The Board instructed. the Clerk to notify William Knauber that on Oct-
ober 23, 1942, the Board had approved the installation of a light at they
intersection, Of South 16th and F Streets but due to lack of material it
had been impossible to install the same, and that as soon as the material
is available the light would be installed.
The Board unanimously complimented the Police Department for the
manner in which they cleaned the walla and etc. in their department.
City Attorney Keisker reported that he had submitted a report to
the Chief of the Fire Department in the matter of Liability Insurance
for the Drivers in the Fire Department.
The Board instructed the Clerk to return the Certified Checks which
Were deposited with the variolts bids presented to the Board for furnishing
material for ,the Street Department.
After allowing claims in the amounnt of $597.84 on Proper motion
the Board A journed:.
