HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-21-1944 441 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF VMS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 1944 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board , Friday, April 21st, 1944 at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin being present , the following proceedings were had,to-wit; The minutes of the preceding were read and approved.. Mr. Don Bell was present and discussed with the members of the Board the matter of Liability.Insurance to:.-cover the,drivers on the various Fire Trucks operated by the City. City Attorney Keisker stetld he was preparing a written opinion on the matter and would presenteit at a later date. Friday April 21st, 1944 being the date designated by the Board for the receiving of bids On•material for the use of the Street Dep- artment , the bids being as follows; W. L MAGAW ,r A-E /150--- 150,000 gal. more or less price per gal. --.113- Emulsified Asphalt in drum lots, 25,000 gal more or less --- .113 per gal. The bids were referred to a Committee for ,tabulation and recommen- dation composed of City Engineer Hodgin, Street Supt. Meyers and City Controller Winfield Urban and after due consideration the Committee recommended that W. L. Magaw be awarded the contract for furnishing the Emulsified Asphalt -and Bituminious Material according to specifica- tions mentioned in their bid9 and that hhe contract' for furnishing the aggregates be awarded to the American Aggregates Corp. according to price and specifications mentioned in their bid. The above bids were the only bids presented to the Board and there being no competitive bid presented on either product the Board reserves the right to purchase either material on the open market if so desired. After allowing claims in the amount of $ 9,670.18 on proper motion the Board adjourned. President Attest: �u _ Clerk of the o rd �W�
