OFFICE OP THE BOARD 'OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, MARCH 7,1, 1944.
b, The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City. of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, "Friday, March 31, 194+
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker
and S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were
had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby the Board
approved the cutting of a tree by'Paul French located at 24 South
22nd Street.
A report was presented to the Board in regard to the dangerous
condition of the canopy which extends over the sidewalk in front of
the Arlington Hotel located on North 9th'_.& -EStreets.
On the recommendation of the Committee appointed to tabulate ,
the bids on material for the installation of traffic lights at North
5th and Dstreets also Richmond Avenue and Sheridan Street the Board
approved the purchase of the material from theMaster Equipment Co.
for the sum of $395.00 .
On the recommendation of the Mayor the Board unanimously app-
roved the following list of Insurance people entitled to participate
in the Civil City's arrangement during 1944.

The Board unanimously accepted and approved an endorsment of
a fleet insurance policy excluding coverage on autos in the Fire Depart-
ment except those which are respectfully described on the policy or by
endoesement attached to the policy.
After allowing claims in the amount of $7,1S7.60 on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
