HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-25-1944 428 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 25TH, 1944. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday , February 25th,. 19104, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. -- Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wits The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby thecBoard approved the cutting of a tree in front of the property located 815 North 8th Street by Cecil Howard. Mr. Karl Meyers , Street Superintendent reported he had received priorities for the purchase of two trucks for the use of the Street Department. On the recommendation of Police Chief Duckett the Board approved the dis-continuation•-of the leave of absence of William Keller and place him in active service with the Police Department effective February 29th & March 1, 1944, respectively, the regular salary. A letter was presented to the Board from Kiromac Manufacturing Co. signed by W. H. Kinker requesting the Board to establish a no parking zone South of the Pennsylvania R. R. bni.Glen Avenue between North 16th and 17th Street, stating the building which the said company occupied abutted on this street' had various entrances for the loading and unloading platforms congested by the parking of cars by employees of other factories located in this district for unlimited times therefore creating a hazard as a lot of their material was handled by truck at this time. The matter was referred to the Traffic Division for consideration and on the recommendation of Police Chief Duckett the Board approved the request of Mr. Kinker and ordered the proper signes installed designating the said location as a no parking zone except for loading and unloading - material. After allowing claims in the amount of $471.21 on proper motion the Board adjourned. ` Tl President Attest. Jj Clerk of the oard.
