OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIAINA,
DECEMBER 17TH, 1943
The Board of PubB1c Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board , Friday , December 17th,
1943 , at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --S. T. Hodgin, Earl Keisker and Win-
field Urban being present the following peoceedings were had to-zit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Friday December 17th, 1943, being the date designated by the
Board for the time for the receiving of bids for a stoker for the
use of the Street Department Garage , bids being as follows;
A'ather Brothers;
1 Iron Fireman Automatic Coal Burner according to specifications
Price 4a64alled.-complete --- $950.00
The bid was referred to a Committee composed of Mr. Myers, Street
Commissioner, Mr. Hodgin City Engineer and Mr. Smith Building Inspector
for tabulation and recommendation and after due consideration the
Committee recommended that the bid be rejected which the Board unanimously
approved.

Friday , December 17th being the date designated by the Board for the
receiving of bids for automotive equippment for the various departments
of the City , the bids are as follows;
X. H. Gilcrest Co.
For the use of the Fire Deaprtment , One New Dodge 1942 2 Ton Panel Truck
as specified Price delivered $1,037.42
For the use of the Park Department, One Studebaker 13 Ton Heavy
Duty Truck 152 inch Wheel Base with 12 Stake Body and Cab Equipped with
5. 32x6- l0ply tires and 1-32x 6-8Ply tires , 1942 model M-16, del-
ivered Price $1551.36
Less trade in allowance for old truck 26.36
Total Price- 1525.00
No bids were received for a car for the use of the Police D partment
and no bids were received for 2 trucks for the use of the Street Department.
The bids received wsre referred to a committee composed of City Engineer
Hodgin, Park Superintendent Frisby, Fire Chief Harry Williams and City Con-
troller Urban for tabulation and recommendation and after due consideration
the Committee recommended all the bids be rejected which the Board unani-
mously approved. '
Chief Police Duckett was instructed to locate a car for the use of the
Police Department and report to the Board.
Street Commissioner Meyers was instructed to locate 2 trucks if poss-
ible for the use of the Street Department and report to the Board.

After allowing claims in the amount of $ 1,116.76 on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
