FRIDAY , OCTOBER gth, 1943
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office said Board. Friday , October gth,- 1943,
at 9:00 o 'clock A. M. -- Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, .Ea l-Heaeke-;-and
• Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had
to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr Grover Monger appeared before the Board requesting permission
to install a sewer between South 3rd Street and 04 Railroad the same
was referred to City Engineer Hodgin. for consideration.
Mr. Wilson , representing the Wayne Works Co. appeared before the
Board in the interest of the drainage situation created by water com-
. ming onto North 17th Street from their factory, the same taken. under
further advisement by City Engineer Hodgin in the matter of the con-
struction of a -sewer to serve that location.
'On the recommendation of the Traffic Division the Board approved
a parking zone for the space of two cars in front of the building
occupied by the Richmond Shopper located at 7 & North A Street fronting
on-the West side of 7th Street,
The Board authorized Street Superintendent Karl Meyers to locate
a 3 tc 5 ton Street roller_Whichmight .be purchase., the Board—to take
further action later,if desireable used roller is located.
Friday , October Sth, 1943 , being the date designated by the Board
for the receiving of bids for the construction of a cement alley located
between Peacock Road c.n Northwest D Street all in accordance with Im l—o.7 -
ment Resolution' _vo. 1,1943, and there being no bids presented no further
Action was taken by. the Board.

the construction of a cement alley which had been petitioned for by inter-
ested citizens with property abbuting the alley located between South 14th-
- & 15th Streets from F to G Streets the War Board also rejected approval for
the construction of of a cement alley located East of North 10th Street St.
from North I to North J Street. •
A complaint was presented to the Board in regard to the sanitary con-
dition of a sewer inlet located near South 16th and. E Streets, the same
being referred to Street Commissioner Meyers.
After allowing claims in the amount of $23,267 7g on proper motion
the Board adjourned..
