HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-15-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 15,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,.Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street,Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney;Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Denise Retz, Park Superintendent; Cedric James, Code Enforcement; Bill Henry, Code Enforcement; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement, Tracy Bosell, Street Commissioner; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Larry Parker, Councilor; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of September 8, 2022, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr.Evans moved to approve the claims for payment for September 16,2022 in the amount of One Hundred Seventeen Thousand Three Hundred Ten Dollars and twenty cents ($117,310.20), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 139-2022—BOBCAT OF ANDERSON Board of Works Minutes September 15,2022 City retains Contractor to furnish one (1)Bobcat UW56 Toolcat, for the Street Department. Not to exceed$66,097.64 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 143-2022—LARKWOOD GREENE ENTERPRISES,LLC City retains Contractor to furnish one (1) 2022 Ford F350 Super Duty Pickup Truck with options for the City of Richmond Parks Department. This is being paid for out of America Rescue Dollars. Not to exceed$51,942.08. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 144-2022—MIKESELL EXCAVATING, INC. City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the demolition of 209 North 20th Street(small garage/shed located at east side of property). Services shall include demolition,removal of debris, and restoration of the site. Not to exceed $1,600.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 145-2022—COX EXCAVATING PLUS,LLC City retains contractor for the demolition of property located at 1226 Liberty Avenue Not to exceed $6,500.00 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 146-2022—MIKESELL EXCAVATING,INC. City retains contractor for the demolition of properties located at 1809 North "E" Street ($8,200.00) and 27 South 12th Street($12,900.00). Not to exceed$21,100.00 total Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS -None Board of Works Minutes September 15,2022 RESOLUTIONS • ACCEPTANCE OF PROOF OF PUBLICATION Mr. Evans moved to accept the Proof of Publication, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried • PUBLIC HEARING FOR RESOLUTION NO. 10-2022 President Robinson opened the floor for Public Hearing. There being no one for or against the resolution the Public Hearing was closed. • RESOLUTION NO. 10-2022- A DECLARATORY RESOLUTION TO APPROVE STREET LIGHTS This resolution will be to approve the installation of seven new street lights by Richmond Power&Light at Section 3 of the Sandbridge Hills Subdivision located in Richmond. Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr.Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
