HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-22-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 22,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Police Chief Mike Britt; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Imani Murphy, Director of Human Resources and Compliance; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of September 15, 2022, supported by Mr. Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for September 23, 2022 in the amount of Eight Hundred Seventy Nine Thousand Ninety Nine Dollars and twenty-five cents ($879,099.25), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr.Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for September 22,2022 in the amount of Seven Hundred Ninety Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty Seven Dollars and seventy cents ($798,927.70), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURES The Closure of Hub Etchison, Monday, September 26, 2022, 7:00 a.m. with other streets to be determined. Board of Works Minutes September 22,2022 Ms. Palmer moved to approve,supported by Mr.Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. BID OPENINGS—None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 131-2022—RICHMOND POWER& LIGHT This is an agreement between the City and Richmond Power & Light to install (7) seven decorative lights within the Sandbridge Hills, Section 3. These lights will be installed and maintained by Richmond Power & Light for a period of(15) fifteen years. The City will pay Richmond Power&Light a yearly fee of$2,019.36. Mr.Evans moved to approve,supported by Ms.Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 147-2022—MILESTONE CONTRACTORS,L.P. The City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the milling and paving of the Richmond Municipal Airport parking lot. Not to exceed$85,617.75. Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr.Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 155-2022 — SMARRELLI GENERAL CONTRACTOR,INC This is for curb ramps at Elstro Park and to raise 6 storm inlets on Peacock Road. Not to exceed$3,419.33. Mr.Evans moved to approve,supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 73-2022 — D5 TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS The City retained this Contractor to provide services in connection with consulting and professional services which include, but not limited to information technology support of Board of Works Minutes September 22,2022 the City's network infrastructure, security of the network infrastructure, and day-to-day support of the information technology needs and goals for the Mayor's office, Human Resources Department, the Information Technology Department and the City administration. This addendum adds an additional block of 50 hours, or $5,000.00 to the original contract(paid at the rate of$100.00 per hour). Ms.Palmer moved to approve,supported by Mr.Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS-None MISCELLANEOUS President Robinson announced that the public viewing for Officer Seara Burton will be at the Municipal Building on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Tiernan Center at Richmond High School at 11:00 a.m. There will be a procession after the funeral down US 40 to Crown Hill Cemetery,Heroes of Public Safety in Indianapolis, Indiana.
