HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-30-1943 385 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS - - CITY OF_RTCHMOND, INDIANPa, FR.IDAY , JULY. 3Q, 1943 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind.ian_a, met in the office of said Board, July 30th, 1943, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --S. W. Hodgin, Earl Keisker.and Winfield Urban being present the following rroceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Horace Kramer located at-11406 East Main Street to cut thestump,the remaining portion of a tree in front of his lot between the sidewalk and curb- to a level of the ground thereby,eliminating the chance for injury to anyone which might not observe 'the obstruction. Oh the reaomrnendetion of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board app- roved there-instatement of .Roland. Miller as City Fireman , he having been granted a. leave of absence by the Board to serve with the armed forces of the United States Government and has received an honorable discharge from.'the- same. The Board also approved the release of Glen B. Kenney who had been temporarly appointed in the Place of Rolland Miller. All effective August 1st, 1943, A retort from the Travelers Insurance Co. to the Board shows that en inspection had been made of the boiler at the Street Garage and No.4 Hose House and were both in a satisfactory condition, and no loss under the terms of the policy prevailed. Also that repairs to the boiler at No.2 Hose House had been made by the John Neiwoerner, Pluming Co. according to the terms of the pllicy. . . . t_ A petition was presented to the Board with the undersigned owner' of real estate , abutting on the alley between Pe*mock Road and Northwest D Street , from Northwest 9th Street , west to lots 19 and 52 Charles ~ ells "s Replat Addition; thence North to Northwest D. Street,. respectfully petition for the passage of a resolution pro- viding for the construction of a cement alley the full width thereof between the mints named. above. . . . . Signed; . James L. Vincent H. Juerling and Son $784.00 E. W. Benfelt - 565.00' William J. Werner 916.00' The bids were taken under further advisement by the Board.
