FRIDAY JULY end, 1943.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind-
i.ana, met in the office of said Board Friday July. 2nd, 1943 at 9:00
' c'clock A. M. m- Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban
being present the folllwing proceedings were had to- wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved9
After some discussion in" regard to the cave in of the Garden Street
Sewer the Board recommended that an Ordinance be prepared and presented
to the Common Council at their next 1egular meeting requesting that an
appropriation be made in the amount of $2500.00 from the Special Street
Pundto be use for the emergency repairs to the Garden Street Sewer„
City Engineer Hodgin presented plans showing the Possible relief
in regard to the drainage situation in an unmade alley east of South
6th Street between I & J Streets near the Johnson Sheet Metal Works
the matter having been referred to him at the previous meeting of the Board'
and. tl,e Board recommends that he confer further with E. H. Scott of the
Johnson Sheet Metal Works.
The Board approved a request by the Metal Speciality Co. located on
South L Street 'to construct vents covered by grates leading from their.
factory to the edge of the alley for the Durpose of relieving the heated
machinery used in their factory:
After allowing claims in the amount of $ 1,504./1 on proper
motion they adjourned.
