HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-04-1943 " 377 OFFICE OF THE'BOARD OF Tam CITY 0 ' RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JUNE 4TH, 1943 The Board of Public Works and Safety"of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board May 2gth. , 1943, at 9°OO o'clock A. M. -- S. W. Hod.gin, Earl Keisker & Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; • The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Don Bell appeared before the Board in regard to renewing insurance policies which expire July 1st, 1943, and after some discussion Mr. Urban moved that the Insurance Committee be instruc- ted to renew- all the insurance policies which expire July lst 1943 now in effect. With a second by Keisker the motion was unanimously approved. A letter was presented to the Board requesting that a no parking zone be established only for private use at. the rear entrance on North A. Street of property occupied by Mrs. Rosa Hall 40 North llth Street. The matter was referred to the Tarffic Division and Police Chief Duckett recommended that the request be rejected which was approved by the Board. On the recommend.:a,tion of the Traffic Division the Board approved a space designated=as:~a' Taxicab. Stand with n space for four cars located. on the North Si a e of North E Street running Easti'rom the drive West of the Pennsylvania Rkil.`Road Station and instructed the Street Department to paint the curb designating that location as -such. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify all Taxi Cab Companies to deposit a list of the names of the drivers operating their cabs also the names of those discharged from their employee as soon as they,aae.dis- charged or if they quit, the service. A request was presented to _the Board"from Clyde Ronan located at 601 Southwest Second Street for a culvert to be installed across the street at that location to relieve the drainage situation., the same being re- ferred to the City Engineer & Street Superintendent for consideration. After allowing claims in the amount ors e 1,036.32 on proper tej*pl�motion they adjourned.
