The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board , Friday ,April 9th, , 194+3, at 9;00 o'clock • A. M. S. W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. The matter of a request to place a trash bin at the corner of South 10th Street and Parkway was referred to the City Engineer an the Street Commissioner for consideration.. The matter of changing the name of a portion of Northwest 6th Street and the renaming of Charles Avenue in the Marcharton Addition, both in the . City of Richmond by ordinance was referred to the City Attorney. The following letter was presented to the Board whieh was addressed to City Engineer Hodgin; Dear Sir; In accordance with our conversation when I saw you in Richmond I am sending you a sketch of the plot of the Marcharton Addition showing the changes that I propose to make in connection with the vacation of the street on the North Side of the property. When this street is vacated , it will be desireable to have the 12ft strip that was originally dedicated with the street vacated at the same time , as well as the North End of 28th Street beyond the line which provides the entrance to Lots No. 10 to 15' in- elusive from the North End. The lots on the other two streets will be turned around to face on 29th Street and Charles Avenue. - I will certainly appreciate your having_ this -matter attended to for me.' Yours Respectfully R. S. Charles The same was referred to City Engineer Hodgin and City Attorney Keisker for consideration. A report was presented to the Board in regard to a tree which should be removed from in front of 203 South 3rd Street,property owned by the. Peoples Loan Co. the same being referred to Park Superintendent Joseph Frisby. A report was -presented to the Board in regard to dirt accumale.ting on the sidewalk in front of a lot located at the Northwest 'Corner of South llth & J Streets and the Board in-strutted the Clerk to notify the Dickinson Trust Z'gus. Co. Ownergs-°of t.the lot to remove the same. A report was presented to the Board in regard to the sidewalk being below the grade line in front of the property owned by Earl Kinnear located at 4+09 South l5th Street and the Board instructed the Clerk to notify the pro- perty owner that the same, hould have immediate attention.
