CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th,191+3 •
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
• Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday , February 5th, 1943,
at 9'00 o'clock A. M. S. W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present
the following proceedings were had to-wit; _
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
The following latter was presented to the Board;
Gentlemen; Dated Feb. 5,1943
I hereby submit to you my resignation as fireman.
I would appreciate your acceptance of same to take effect at 7:00
A. M. February 14th, 1943.

On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board
unanimously accepted the resignation of Herman C. Stuck from the
City Fire Department.
The following letter was presented to the Board dated February
3, 1943, as follows;
Gentlemen;
I Harry Aikin , Assistant Chief of Richmond Fire
Department, wishes to hand in my resignation effective February 23,
1943. I also want to place my application in for a pension.

The Board deferred any action in the matter until advise could be had
from the City Attorney in regard to certain ligislation which is now
being considered by the legislators now thn session.
A report was presented to the Board of inspection of the City
Building by insurance Agent, and referred to The Fire Chief and the
Building Inspector.
The matter of water being run in the alley from the Brown Motor
.Company Garage from car washing stands was reported to the Board, and
taken under advisement.
11/ Street Superintefldent• Meyers reported to the Board that the A.J
Miller Co. located at 730 South 9th St. was selling tools and equippmsent
which could be useful for the Street Department and Disposal Plant and the
Board authorized the said. departments to purchase such tools and equippment
as necessary to be had :
Mr. Don Bell was present in regard to tn increas in Public Liability
Automobile Insurance for the City Cars, and the matter was taken under
advisement.

A lease for a portion of ground by the the Pennsylvania Rail Road •
to the City of. Richmond located on the West side of the Whitewater
Boulevard and North of their tracks to be uses for a. foot walk was
presented to the Board and approved,
