HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-22-1943 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS 5 5 CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY , JANUARY 22nd, 1943 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind- iana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, January 22nd, 1943, at 9:00 otclock A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin,Earl Keisker, and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. A request was presented to the Board by the Roland Swisher Co. who have purchased the Jones Hardware Bldg. for a parking zone to.be es- sablished for the use of their trucks on Elm Place on the t - rear entrance to-the building, the same being referred to the traffic Divi- sion. A petition was presented to the Board as follows; Wit: , We, the undersigned business establishments located in the 100 block , Ft. Wayne Avenue , opposite Miller Bros.' Hardware Co. petition the Board of Works to establish a parking time limit necessary to provide, accomodations for our trade Signed by the following; R.W. Sperling-- Richmond Industrial Supply Co. J. H. Lichtenfels Co Pearl Long , Pearl Laundry H. M. Newman , Romey Outlet 'Store L. Conner, Lees Liouor Store W . E:.-Or.r;Electrical Rug Shampoo The same being referred to the Traffic Division. On the recommendation of the War Department 5 Command Plant pro- tection Division the Board of Works approved and designated North First Street from Main Street and Johnston Street to North Second Street as private drives to the Light Plant for the duration of the War. On the recommendation of the Traffic Division the Board ordered that a no parking zone be established on North Sixth Street between the East End of the Pennsylvania Freight Depot and t'r:.e Rail Road Tracks, and a sign be placed at that location designating such notice.
