OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, JAIUARY 15TH,194.3
The Board of Public Works and ®afeby of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, January 15th,
1943, at 10;00 o'clock A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin,Earl Keisker &
Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had
to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meetings were read and approved.
On the recommendation of Police Chief Ellis Duckett the Board
authorized the purchase of one Chrevolet Car from the Willoughby
Chevrolet Co. for the sum of $725.00 plus a tardein of a Ford Coach
used by the Police Department. The same to equipped accordng to the
approval of the Chief of Police.
On the recommendation of Police Chief Duckett the Board approved
the appointment of Milo Brann as a regular Police Patrolman he having
served the usual probationary period of six months. effective Jan.1,1.943.
On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board
approved the temporary appointment of Paul C. Cussins as City Fireman
he to serve the usual probationary period of six month, for the sum
of $160.00 per month. effective January 1943.
The Board authorized Fire Chief Harry Williams to purchase one
dozen rubber coats for the use. of the Fire Department.
The Board authorized the payment of $150.00 per yer for all
Janitor services at the Market House and promises.
City Attorney Keisker reported that the Wayne Circuit Court had
ordered the check of Clarence Wessler in the amount of $45.00 due
him for cervices as a Policeman up until the time of his resignation
December /4194+2, be delivered to the Clerk of the Wayne Circuit Court as
a result pf an attachment & garnishment proceedings against Clarence
Wessler and that the check has been delivered to the Clerk of the Wayne
Circuit Court by the City Controller.
An account was rendered to the Board against the City of Richmond,
by the Pennsylvania Railroad and referred to City Attorney Keisker by
the Board.
The Board accepted and apnr.oved an Easment from the Pennsylvania
Railroad Co. to the City of R1ehmond, for a parcel of ground North of
their tracks and West of the West for of the River the same to be used
for the construction of a foot walk thereon.
After allowing claims in the amount of $15, 353.05 on proper
motion they adjourned. /
