HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-09-1943 - Special Session OFFICE OF THE BOARD 0F 'WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, IiDIANA, FRIDAY, JA1 VARY 9TH 1943 (SPECIAL) The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the Mayor, in a (SPECIAL SESSION) Saturday , January 9th, 1943, at 10:30 o'clock A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; " The reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was- dis- pensed with. The following action was taken by the Board , no bids having been received by the City of Richmond pursuant to the advertising soliciting bids for three cars for the use of the Police Department and the Chief of Police having been instructed to make an investigation to asertain if cars are available , now reports that he has located two new Chevro- let Automobiles that can be purchased for $1400.00 plus a two car trade in which are now ,in use by the Police Departments from the Willoughby Chevrolet Co. The Board unanimously approved an accepted the bid of the Willoughby Chevrolet Co. for the furnishing of two cars for theuse of the Police Dep. artment for the sum of $1400.00 pits a two car tradein now in use by the said Department. The board unanimously authorized the promotion of Jess Rgivilee from a Police Patrolman to a Detective, effective January 1st, 194+39 the same being on the recommendation of the Police Chief, Ellis Duckett. On the recommendation of Police Chief Ellis Duckett the Board app- roved the increase in salary of Margueret Briscoe Operator at the Police Radio Station from $125.00 per month to $14+5.00 per month effective January 1st, 1943.
