HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-21-1942 331 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 21ST, 1942. The Board of Public Works and §afety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, August 21st,1942 at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Messrs. Winfield Urban, S. W. Hodgin and II Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. A request to cut the curb to a width of 40 feet was granted to Walter M. Keach , Easthaven Avenue. A letter was presented to the Board from the Pennsylvania Rail Road Company stating owing to Government ruling the Black Top Material cannot, be secured without a priority rating and until such rating is secured it would be impossible to repair the crossings with such material although they had made temporary repairs to the North 6th & North 8th Streets crossings as had been requested. A letter was presented to the Board from Mr. Platt Robinson. in regard to the large number of crickets appearing in the South- east section of the City suggesting they might be coming from the • dump on South 16th Street, the same being referred to City Engineer Hodgin for investigation. The matter of some bad.places in the streets on Northwest J &.I Streets was referred to City Engineer Hodgin. The Board approved the project of removing the Street Car Rails on Hunt and Ridge Streets. . A request to block off North-`.D=,'--Street from 20th Street to Glen Miller Park for the Soap Box Derby,promoted by the Boy Scouts of America was approved by the Board the same to be held August 29th 1942 between the hours of 3:00 P. M. & 6:00 P. M. The matter of a stop sign being placed on North C Str.e'et at the intersection of North 5th Street was referred to the Traffic Division.
