HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-14-1942 33Q OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 14TH, 194+2 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday , August. 14th, 1942, at 9:00 o!clock A. M. Messrs. Winfield Urban, S. W. Hodgin and Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were III had to-wit; • The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. James Alyea Superintendent of the City Bus lines appeared before the Board requesting permission to extend the Bus line from South 5th & A Streets to Main Street, which the Board unanimously approved. The Board approved the use of a portion of the the old High School grounds on North gth Street for collection of old scrap iron by the Wayne County Salvage Committee. A request to cut the curb was granted. to Richmond Home Tel- ephone Company to a width of 12 feet , lot No. 165 C. W. Starr's 5th Addition. Aletter was presented to the Board. from the Pennsylvania • R. R. Company stating they had repaired the crossings at T'orth- west J and L Streets. The Board approved the transfer of $89.95 from the Improvement Bond Sinking Fund_ to' the Barrett Law. Roll. ' . The Board approved an, estimatte with :W.L. Magaw Company for resurfacing the Doran Bridge with Rock Asphalt to a depth of one inch for the sum of $16.00 dollars per ton astimating the amount of material used at from 72 to 75 tons at an estimate totaledost of $1,152.00 to $1,200.00 After allowing claims in the amount of $7,211.9g on proper motion they adjourned.
