CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, MAY 22ND, 1942
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, May 22nd, 194+2
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Winfield Urban., S. W. Hodgin and Earl Keisker
being present , the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutesof the preceding-=:meeting were read and approved.
Mr. James Alyea Superintendent of the City Bus Lines appeared
before the Board and stated his Company had advised in keeping with
the recommendations of the U. S. Government that the Bus lines in the
City be shortened for the purpose of eliminating un-necessary milage
as mach as possible, therfore he would recommend to the Board that
temporary elimination of- Bus Service be made on North F Street from
North 10th Street to North 12th Street; On North 12th Street to North
J Street and on North J,Ii}est to North 10th Street: Also temporary
elimination of Bus Service on South E. Street from South 22nd Street
to South 23rd Street : North on South 23rd Street to Reevston Road
and West on Reeveston Road to South 22nd Street.
After due consideration the Board unanimously approved the
recommendation of Mr. Alyea inregard to the elimination of Bus service
on said Streets9 temporarly
Mr: Donald Bell and Mr. T. B. Morrow were present inregard to
6ompensation Insurance. for City Fireman and Police if injured while
. in line of duty9 the same being referred to City Attorney Keisker
for report later.
A'r.letter•.was''presented to the Board from Frank I Braffett in re-
gard to traffic on North 16th Street near Main Street., the same being
referred to the Traffic Division.
A petition was presented to the Board with the signature of seven
affected citizens requesting that South I Street be repaired from South
5th Street to Liberty Avenue, the same being referred to Street Commiss-
ioner Meyers.
After allowing claims in the amount of $ g,29S.68 on proper motion
they adjourned.
