HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-20-1942 29A OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, MARCH 20TH, 1942. The Board of -Public Works and Safety of the City of Rich- mond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,_ Friday, March 20th, 194+2, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Messrs. Winfield Urban, 9. W. Hodgin and E arl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding were read and approved. Fire Chief Harry Williams reported an accident to his car other driver making left turn . The matter of repairing the foot bridge in Happy Hollow was taken under advisement. A letter was presented to the Board from Ira Reed with a letter. ' from the State Board of Health attached in regard to the insanitary condition of an open ditch located near 1613 . South 3rd Street. The matter was referred to the Health Inspector William P. Smith. A letter was presented to the Board from the Richmond Water Works Corporation in regard to the petition previously presented to the Board rquesting the extension of the Water Main on South gth Street to Q Street, stating they find that there are only three small residences on that street and one trailer. Two of the signers own one of the houses and the last two signers live at South 9th and Q streets. Considering the very limited revenue .available plus the difficulty in obtaining castiron pipe , we do not recommend making the extension. They also stated they had talked with Mr. Huddleson today, explaining the matter fully, and we believe the matter is settled in line with our recommendation to table the matter. A request to cut the curb to a width of 10feet was granted to Mrs. Richard M. Peed tot No. 160 Peacock Terrace Addition. After allowing claims in the amount of $9,671.46 on proper motion they adjourned. Preside Attest; Clerk -6 the Board.
