The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, let in the office of said Board, Friday, March 6th, 1942, at 9:00 : o'clock A. M. Messrs. Winfield Urban, S. W. Hodgin and Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. A complaint was presented to the Board from Mrs.John Denton located on the New Paris Pike in regard to the bad`.condition of a sewer near that locations the same being referred to the Street Department, for investigation. A petition was presented to the Board signed by ten affected citizens, _requesting the extension of the Water Main on South Sth Street to South Q Street, the same being referred to Mr. Shoemaker Superintendent of the Richmond Water Works Corporation for con- sideration. Mr. James L. Alyea local Superintendent of the City Bus Lines appeared before the Board in the interestof the overcrowded condi- tion on the City Busess, stating the tire rationing had caused -such an increase in passengers that regular schedules had been slowed up considerable , but he had contacted J. T. Martin the General Super- intendent at. Indianapolis and an effort would be made to relieve the situation as soon as possible by adding another bus if available.
