CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA,
FRIDAY, N0VEMBER 14TH,1941
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the Oily of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, November 14th,
1941, at 9:00 o'clock A, M. S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and
Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Edd Ross Superintendent of the Disposal Plant reported there
been some oil appearing in the sanitary sewer supposed to be from the
International Harvester Plant which had given agreat deal of trouble
to the Disposal System and called attention to the Ordinance governing •
the same, the matter was discussed and and referred vq City Attorney
Keisker.
On the recommendation of City Engineer Hodgin the Board ordered
the installation of a light at the alley intersection on North C
Street between North 20th and 21st Street also at the alley intersection
on North C Street between North 21st and 22nd Street.
After consideration of a petition which Web presented at aprevious date,
on the recommendation of City Engineer Hodgin the Board ordered the in-
stallation of a 6inch Water Main on Southwest 14th Street running South
from Main Street approximately 700 feet,.. .vith two mire Hydrants installed
subject to the approval of the Fire Chief.
A request to cut the curb to a width od 12 feet was granted to Jacob
Loos Lot No. 57 south 23rd Street.
A request to out the :curb was:also:granted to Luther:Marting located
.at 407 Northwest 6th Street, to awidth of 12 feet.
A letter was presented to the Board from F. S. Bates Superintendent
of Schools requesting the Board to take the necessary action with the
State Highway Commission in regard to installing a traffic Light at
South 5th Street and G Streets, the matter being referred to City En-
gineer Hodgin he confer with the State gighway Department.
The matter of parking on the,.Sou:th'•:,Sids .of--.North D. Streeteast,-•of
North 5th Street by large trucks such as to obstruct the view of traffic
going north off of North 5th Street onto D Street was discussed by the
Board and referred to the Traffic Division.
After allowing claims in the amount of $ 14,372.32 on proper
motion they adjourned.
