CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY,SEPTEMBER 12TH, 1941.
The Board of Public Works and. Safety of the Cit;
of Richmond , Indiana, met in the office of. said Board
Friday September 12th, 1941, at 9;00 o'clock P. M.
Messrs. S [ W; Hodgin and Earl Keisker being present.
the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The reading of the minutes of the preceeding meet-
ing was dispensed with.
Mr. Hodgin reported no further report had been made
in regard to a school traffic survey.
Park Superintendent Frisby gave a report relative
to the construction of a Shelter House in Glen Miller
Park by N. Y. A. ,the Board referring the- matter to the
Park Board and recommended that the present shelter
house be removed.
Mrs. Robert F. Long, 1517 Southwest A Street,,Mr .
Earl Mable,&, Mrs.John McCurdy and others appeared
before the Board in regard to the drainage condition
in Sutton Place near Southwest 16th Street and South-
west A Streets. Mr. Hodgin Stated that the reason for
the condition was because storm water from the down-
spouts had been run into a Sanitary Sewer causing the
water to back up inn the basements. The matter wss
referred. to Mr. Eadler Building Inspector, and the--
Board recommended that no more downspouts be connected
to the Sanitary Sewer from new buildings.
Street Commissioner Meyers recommended the construc-
of a Storm Sewer on North 17th Street as W. P. A -pro-
ject.
The matter of No parking on the west side of North
16th street from Main Street to the first alley North
was discussed and referred to the Traffic Division.
A letter was presented to the Board from Mr. Ramsey
Mc- Donald in charge of the Police Radio Station giving
- an estimate forthe installation of an emergency trans-
mitter and standby power plant composed of a 40 watt
Transmitter and 300 watt power unit at an estimate cost
250.00 with a 20% leeway.
A petition was presented to the Board requesting the
street be treated from Main on North 29th Street the
same being signed by four affected property owners, the
matter was referred to the Street Lepartment.
After allowing claims in the amount od 82 460.13
on proper motion they adjourned.
