HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-29-1941 247 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA' FRIDAY,AUGUST 29th, 1941 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, August 29th, 1941,,at 9:00 o ' clock $. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and. Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had. to-wit; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were raed and approved. On the recommendation of the Traffic Division the Board approved the installation of a light at the alley intersection between North 12th and 13th Streets and D Street. The Board confirmed the adoption of the Assessment Roll fixing the benefits and damages in accordance with Declaratory Resolution No7-1941, in the opening of alleys on Northwest 17th Street Dolan' s Addition. A letter was presented to the Board from the National Automatic Tool Compieny requesting the top of a tree be removed which,-is:.:located along the Whitewater Boulevard near their property, the old Garr Scott Bldg. which is obstructing the view of the passing public on the Penn- sylvania lines, the matter being referred to the City Engineerm• A letter was presented to the Board from Mrs. Marie Coning Secretary of the Official Board of the United Breathreia Church in regard to the unsanitary conditions of garbage near the church, the same being referred to the City Attorney. A letter was presented to the Board from William G. Bates Superintendent of Sarhools calling attention to the Traffic near the Schools and the necessary caution signs pertaining to the safety of school children, this being referred to City Engineer Hodgin. Mr. Carl Boram representing the Pennsylvania R. R. was present requesting a 1 hour parking zone be estab- lished in front of the Pennsylvania R. R. Passenger Station in the amount of 160 feet with a space reserved. directly in' front of the Station for no parking for the use of passengers leving and. comming to the Station, with grips and .luggage. The matter was referred to the Traffic Division and was approved by unanimous consent. Mr. Cliff Haworth Attorney representing the Anderson Taxi Cab Co.was present requesting a parking zone be established in front of Nos. 11 & 15 North 7th Street for the use of a Taxi Cab Stand, the same being referred to the Traffic Division.
