The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of. said Board Friday, July 25th, 1941, at 900 A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hod- gin Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read mad approved. The Board confirmed the adoption of Declaratory Resolution No. 6-1941 in the vacation-of an alley on North 13th Street Elizabeth Starr' s second Add. sand ' approved•.the adoptl on of gin. The Board approved the adoption of Declaratory' Res olution No. 7-1941 as_follows; BE IT RESOLVED, by the board. of Public Works and Safety of the ' City of Richmond, Indiana, that it is desired and • deemed necessary to open all alleys between Northwest 17th street and East Haven Avenue, North of West Main Street in Dolands Addition9 in the City of. Richmond, County of Wayne, and State of Indiana., which alleys: proposed to be opened is more particularly described as follows; Beginning at apoint One Hundred & Sixteen (116) feet North. of the North line of West Main btreet and on the West line of Northewst 17th Street; thence westwardly parallell to the North line of West Main Street to the East line of East Haven Avenue; thence Northwardly along said East line of East Haven Avenue Seventeen and Seventy-five Hundredths (17.75) feet; th ,nce eastwardly parallel with the North line of 17est Main Street One Hundred and. Forty-five (145.00) feet; thence northwardly parallel with the East line of East Haven Avenue to the North line of Lot No. (1) Dolamfs Addition; thence East- wardly along the North line of Dolan' s Addition Twenty (20) feet; thence Southwardly parallel with the East line of East- Haven Avenue to a point One Hundred Thirty-Three & Seventy- Five Hundredths (133.75) ' feet North of theNorth line of West Main Street; thence eastwardly One Hundred Forty-Three and Fifty-Six Hundredths (143.56' ) feet to the west line of North- west 17th Street; thence Southwardly along the West line of Northwest lath street Seventeen &Seventy-five Hundredths feet (17..75 A to the place of beginning® All as shown by aplat of , such proposed opening now on file in the office Of the Department of Public Works of said. Commons Trustees© • Ccont ' d) 236 The Board ordered the proper legal publication be made in accordance with the adoption of Declaratory Resolution No. 7-1941, designating August 8th, 1941, at 9:30 o clock at its office as the date for the hearing of any objection to the same. A letter was presented to the Board from Mr.& Mrs Robert Titus requesting a 31ight be installed at the intersection of the fist alley North. of ' gorth E Street and North 2oth Street, this being referred to the Traffic Division & Supt. of Light Plant. 11/ A request to cut the Curb was granted to William Werner Lot 54& 55 Bealview Additions to a width of 30 feet. A lease and agreement with the Packer Advertising Co. was presented to the Board and approved for the erection of a Bill Board on City Property South of Richmond Avenue and west end of Doran Bridge for aperiod of three years for the annual sum of 450.00. A Resolution by the State Highway Commission was preseno to the Board in regard to toaff is and parking on certain State Highways running through the City and referred to the Traffic Division. Per Ton 85`.38 Item No. 5 Kentucky Hazard delivered to Glen Miller Park Dwellings Per Ton $6.55 (cont ' d- 237 On proper motion the bids were referred to ,City Engineer Hodgin,he to confer with Light Plant Supt. on file Analysis of coal mentioned in the bids. After the proper information had been obtained the Board awarded tbe„bids as follows; Item No. 1 and Item No. 5 was awarded to the Muff Grain & Coal Co. for the sum of 05.66 per ton delivered to City Bldg. and 05.85 respectively delivered to Glen Miller ark dwelling. Item Nos. 2, 3, 4 & 6 were awarded to the Sam Jaffe Co, for the sum of 6.46-$646$$6.46 and $7.00 respectively all. delivered as per bidso After allowing claims in the amount of 44, 407.14 on proper motion they adjourned. • President Attest; Clerk of t e oardo
