CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
\FRIDAY , MAY 16TH, 1941.
The Boardof Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, May 16th, 1941, at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Measrs.
S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker' being
111 present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
The Board approved the Industrial League: Schedule
for Soft Ball on the Soft Ball Diamonds in Clear Creek
Park as presented and recommended that all League Sch-
edules be filed with the City Clerk as of the previous
year, also permits for games off schedule are to be' iss-
ued by the Clerk to prevent confliction as to the use
of the diamonds.
Fire Chief Harry Williams reported an inspection
had been made by the Building Inspector and himself
as designated by the Board in regard to the damage
done by termites to the Police Radio Bldg. and Hose
Houses and that the estimate for repairs would be
around $200:00 dollars.
A request to cut the curb was granted to Knowels
Tool Corp. located -at 800 South 7th St . lot No 4, Anna
Klockers Add. to a width of 20 feet.
The -Fire Chief was instructed to have some of the
men do some o -4e painting on the inside at No 5 Hose
House.
The Board approved the use of a portion of No. 3
Hose House by N. Y. A employes in the usual manner.
A petition was presented to the Board signed by
Sherman Richardson and four other affected citizens
requesting S.outhrest'.-17th:-Street': be repaired from Main
to Southwest A Street, the same referred to the Street
Department.
A petition was presented as r.ecoMmended by the
Traffic Division requesting a two' hour Parking limit
be established on the Bast side of 1:orth- 8th'Street
from Elm Street North to E and from North 8th to North
9th on E Street the petition being signed by Don L Ozbun
and ten other affected citizens, the same being referred
to the Traffic Division.The matter of removing an ornamental Light Post
in front of the New State Theatre was referred to the
Superintendent of the Municipal Light Plant.
After allowing claims in the amount of' $1,313.0 7
on proper motion they adjourned.
