HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-09-1941 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS • CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, MAY 9TH; 1941. The Board of Pubiie Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board Friday May 9th, 1941, at 9:00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. The. Traffic Division reported an investigation had been made in regard to a request for a two hour parking limit on North 8th St . from Elm to North E Street and from North 8th to 9th on E Street either on one or both sides of the Street, and that several citizens in that location had different opinions as to the time limits and etc. , therefore they would recommend that a petition be presented to the Board with the names of several affected citizens . The Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Div- ision and ordered the Clerk to notify Don L. Ozbun one of the former petitioners. The Traffic Division recommended that a Stop Sign be placed at the intersection op Southwest Third and D Streets making Third: Street a through Street , the Board approving the same. The Board approved the purchase of the material by the Park Superintendent for a water line along the Whitewater Boulevard, from Miller Bros. Hardware Co. The matter of repairs to the Doran Bridge was referred to the City Engineer. The report of the sanitary conditions at the Jefferies Hatcheries was referred to the Sanitary Inspector? the same being located on North Bth St . near E Street. The Board ordered the Fire Chief to purchase the necessary material to install an alarm box at Wouthwest 10th & B Streets, when the ornamental lights are installed in that location. II/ The Building inspector was instructed to inspect the various Fire Department Bldgs. in the City with Fire Chief Harry Williams, also Police Radio" Station. in regard to the destruction by Termites? a report to be made later. The Beard ,approved the installation of a Fire Hy- drant near the Street Department with a short line running from South G. Street, subfect to the approval of the Fire Chief.
