OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, .
FRIDAY, SAY-:2 , 1941.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond,. Indiana, met in the- office of said Board
Friday, May 2nd, 1941, at 9 :00- o' clock A. Y. Messrs.
S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker being
/ , present-, the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
,The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved. -
Park Superintendent Frisby reported there was need
of a water line along Whitewater Boulevard for the
purpose of sprinkling shrubery and flowers newly
planted , he being instructed by the Board to get an
estimate 'on the material for the installation of a
line, along the same.
Mr. Lee Ridgeway was present in the interest of
John Graff who wishes to install a sewer on the east
side of Ravinia Park and tap into the now existing
City Sewer located on South 34th Street, the matter
,ers taken under advisement, as to the size of sewer
to be installed.
The Traffic Division reported the Light Plant
employes were cleaning and replacing light bulbs in
the Traffic Signals along the State Highways going
through the City, and recommended that the same be
applied to the Traffic Signals controlled by the City,
the same being approved by the Board.
The matter of traffic regulations at Northwest I
and Hunt Street was referred to the City Attorney and
Traffic Division.
Dr. Reece located at 127 South 7th Street was gran-
ted permission to remove a tree in front of his resi-
dence.
A letter was presented to the Board from Yrs Emma
Logue 334 Southwest 3rd Street reauesting a Stop Sign
be placed at Southwest 3rd and D Streets designating
the through street. The same being referred to the
Traffic Division.

Fire Chief Harry Williams was instructed to confer
with the Water Works Corp. in regard to the installation
of a Fire Hydrant on South 6th Street near the Street
Department Garage.
A petition was presented to the Board signed by
Don L. Osbun Mgr. of. Kroger Store located at North 8th
and E Streets also Jefferies Hatcheries 415 North 8th
Street requesting a two hour parking limit be established
from Elm Street North on 8th Street to E, and from 8th to
hth on North E. Street , this being referred to the Traffic
Division.

Friday, Hay 2nd , 1941, was the day and the date desig-
nated by the Board for the receiving of bids for the con-
cessions in the various parks of the City, there being; no
bids presented.
Street Commnr.- Hart was instructed to contact the •
various Utilities that dig un the Streets in the act of
repairing their service lines in regard to getting private
contractors to repair the streets where such occurs.
After allowing claims in the amount of $5, 733.93
on proper motion they adjourned.
