The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board Friday April 25th, 1941, at 9 :00 A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hod- gin Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker being present the :/ following proceedings were had to-wit ; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Richard Fowler was present in the interest of obtaining the use of the 'Municipal Base Ball Park for the playing season, stating his team expected to be a member of a League now in the act of forming with other surrounding cities:, that he would comply with the previous actions of the Board which requires the minimum payment of : 25.00 a day for the use of the Ball Park or 15% per cent of the,,. gate receipts where charges are made for admission and ;that a schedule shall be placed with the City Clerk designating the dates games are expected to be played. Mr. Fowler desig- nated all Sundays & Holidays from May the llth to the end of the playing season of 1941 as the dates requested, for a schedule. The Board approved the use of the Base Ball Park be grant- ed to Richard 'Fowler from May the llth to the end of the playing season for Base Ball only providing all the regulations are complyed with as previously adopted by the Board. Street Commissioner. Hart requested a Fire Hydrant be ins- talled near . t.he .Street )Department Garage, the same being re- ferred to Fire Chief Harry Williams, for a report. The matter of installing the Traffic Light at 12th and North E Street which had been removed from 16th & Main Streets was discussed by the Board and referred to the Light Plant Superintendent for an estimate. Traffic conditions at Hunt and Northwest I Streets was reported to the Board and referred to the Traffic Division. Mr. William Hornaday was present representing a Mrs . Pos- ther in regard to water conditions in_a well installed2on: her property located at South 9th & Q Streets, stating the water in the well had become unfit for use and requested provisions I/ • be made by the City for water at this location. The matter was referred to City Engineer Hodgin he to confer with the Water Works Corp. City Attorney Keisker reported the State Highway Depart- ment had refused to recommend any change be made in the matter of changing the color of Caution Lights in case of Fire Runs, in the City. ( cont 'd) City Engineer hbdgin presented plans for a Sanitary Sewer including Bealview Add. running from South 9th St. to 3rd Street , giving as the total estimate for the con- struction and material as around 460,000. dollars. ' r A request to cut the curb was granted to Mary Newman 226 South 7th Street, Lot No. 6 Wm Wiggins Add. request to cut the curb was granted to Charles A. She- lley located at 408 Northwest 8th Street Lot 18 Davis Add. The Board approved a request by Russell Barber to / move a house from 812 South 7th Street to 1402 South 5th Street , the same having been recommended by the Building Inspector. A report was made in regard to the unsanitary condi- tion of the open ditch between Northwest 5th Street and Northwest 4th Street near the Trailer Camp City Engineer Rodin stating; the matter could be greatly improve tempo- rarly by laying drain tile which was agreed to do.
