CITY OF RIC LOND, INCIANA, '
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, 1941.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
7riday, February .28th, 1941, at 9 :00 P. 1,1. 1essrs .
Simeon W. I{odgin, Winfield Urban and Earl Keisker
being present the following proceedings were had to-
wit ;
The minutes of the preaeeding meeting were read
and approved.
A )etiti on was presented with the names of twelve
interested citizens recuesting a light be installed
at the intersection of South 12th and J Street. The
request was referred to the City Engineer and the
Light Plant Superintendent , a report to be made at
later date.
The Following resolution was presented and approved.
WHERE.:1S, it has become necessary to make certain
improvements for the safety of the citizens of Rich-
mond, Indiana, and others by the City Government I-
co-operation with the State of Indiana at the inter-
section of North 7th St , North B, Street and -Tort
' ayne Ave. in said City, and,
" 7EPEAS, 0.A. Kemper is the owner of certain real
estate located on. the Northeast corner of the inter-
section o Fort Mayne Ave. and North D Street known
and designated es No . 156 Fort Wayne Ave. and,
WHEREAS, said O.ri. TFemper has rrected or caused
to be erected a certain wooden awning or covering
extending from said real estate out over the side-
walk to the curbing and supported at said curbing
by iron Posts imbedded in the cement sidewalk, .and ,
WHEREAS, one of the said iron posts is now set ,
into said sidewalk at a point where a traffic sig-
nal light must be placed, end ,
''; RT,A"D; it is .iinnossible to set said traffic
signal light unless said iron post is removed , and , I/
WT-1= `S, said .iron post constitutes a hazard to
the public of said City and is preventing the install-
ation of a safety device ,

safety of the public, has and they hereby do order the
prompt removal of said covering or awning in order
that said traffic signal light can be placed on the
corner at said intersection now obstructed by said iron
