CITY OF RICHEOND INDIANA,
7RIDAY, JANUARY 31ST, 1941.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, January 31st , 1941, at 9 :00 A. M. Messrs .
Simeon W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban and .Earl Keisker
being. Present the following proceedings were had to-
_ wit ;

The minutes of the predeeding meeting nnere read
and approved.
A defective man hole attached to the Sewer located
at the corner of Peacock Road and Easthaven Ave.was
reported and .refe red- to .the Street Department.
The Board approved the installation of a light,
to be placed at the intersection of South 5th Street
and the G Street Bridge the same be located for the use
of the Traffic Officer in charge, .
The Board approved the installation of guard rails
wherever necessary along Whitewater Boulevard.
The application of Richard D. Mattox was approved
as temporary Radio Operator a.t a salary of 135. per
month until further Qualifications & . telegraph oper-
ator' s licensed is obtained.
A request for a Parking Zone to be established in
front of the. Pennsylvania Depot was approved by the
Board.
`-'he` board approved the painting r,f the mire Stations
by N. Y-A- labor they also to furnish 3p,- of the material
used:
A r ,_lint about trucks parking on North oth Street
for extensive periods was referred to the Traffic Division.
A r emilinary resolution was adopted by the Board January
lOLh,194l, as follows ;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC. WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, that it is deemed necessary
II to improve Northwest A Street from Northwest 8th Street to
Northwest .10th street by erecting and installing and maintain-
ing a system of street lights and light posts on both sides
i, of the street along the curbs thereof;
Said system of street lights,_ & light posts to be installed
by the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant of said City,
end the cost of such light posts i..n_stali.ed shall be assessed
against the owners of the property abutting on the line of
said street above specified, es provided by an _Act of the
Gener2_1 Assemblyof the State pf Indiana , Under Section ;'138
entitled , ;Y Aide POST CONTRACTS FOR THE COST'°.

and, ordered the proper legal notice be had in the
local newspaper Tanuary 22nd E 29th, 1941, designating
Tanuary 31st , 1941 , at 10 :00- A, N. at its office es a
time and a' place for the receiving of objections or
remonstrances from any citizens affected along said street,
and
in accordance with the profile, details, drawings , and
specifications on file in the office of the Department of
Board of Public ,iorksdo1 said City; the said resolution now
»72E confirmed and such improvement is now ordered.
The cost of said improvement shall be assessed upon the
realestate abutting on saidNorthwest A. Street between
Northwest 8th Street and Northwest 10th Street.
