OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITH OL RICIIMONI), INDIANA,
FRIDAY, JANU RY 17, 1941.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond , Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, .January 17th, 1941 at 9 :00 A.M. Messrs . Simeon
W. Hodgin, Earl Itieisker and Winfield Urban being present
the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
The City Clerk administered the oath of office to
Winlield Urban as a member of the Board of Public Works
and Safety of the City of Richmond,he being Controller
U_ of the said City and according to the la-s" governing
Cities of the second class becomes a-member of the Said
Board of Wo rk s.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
Mr. Simeon W. Hodgin was unanimously elected to serve
as Chairman of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
-The Board approved a contract for furnishing the
grease and oil at the Disposal Plant for the year 1941 by
the Standard Oil Company as per contract,ending. nec. 31-1941.
- Mr. J. A. Stelle was granted permission to cut
the curb to a width of 12 feet r•o . 90 Reevston Add.
Fire Chief Harry Williams presented a number of
applications for City Fireman to fill a vacancy now
existing in the Department on account of the death o.f
Robert Justine' the same being taken under -advisement,
by the Board.
A request to install a factory curb by the Wayne
Works Co . on North l5th Street between F and G Streets
71/as approved by the Board .
The sale of some junk accumulated by the ""ark Depart-
ment was ordered to be sold after the anpr lisEl by rlombers
of the Board.
The janitor service in the City Building was` placed
under the jurisdiction of the Building Inspector.
After allowing claims in the amount of 3,018.63 on
proper motion they adjourned.
