OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND,INDI ANA,
FRIDAY, D-C rHBER 20TH,1940.
The Board of Public s`dorks and Safety of the City of
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, December 20th , 1940, at 9 :00 A. Y. Messrs.
Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson being present
the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
A recuest to rent a space on the Market House ground
by Mr. Ray E. Harley to place a small eating establish-
ment was rejected by the Board.
Fire Chief Harry Williams reported the Hose House
known as No . 5 locate Northwest 5 and Lincoln Streets
was in need of repairs and paint.
A report from the Mayor was presented to the Board
as follows ;
To the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Ind-
iana,
The Board of Public Works and Safety and to whom it
may concern;
This is to inform you that Mr. Henry U. Johnson, the
Present City Attorney of the City off Richmond, Indiana,
did on November the 15th, 1940, tender to me his resig-
nation to the office' of City Attorney effective January
lst , , 1941 and that I have accepted said resignation.

The Board of Public Works and Safety and to whom it
may concern, Greetings ;
KNOWN TO ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that I, John R.
Britten, Mayor of the City of Richmond , Indiana, by
virtue of the power invested in me under the laws of
the state of Indiana, as such Mayor of said City, do
hereby constitute , designate and appoint the Hon. Earl
Feisker as City Attorney of the City of Richmond, Ind-
iana, beginning January 1st , 1941, at Noon.
