OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 1940.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday, October 25, 1940, at 9 :00 A. M. Messrs. John
R. Britten Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of, the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
The Board approved the trimming of the trees on the
streets so more efficient lighting can be had,by the
Davey Tree Company of Indianapolis in co=o ,:eration-.Wit.h
the management of the City Light Plant.
A petition was presented to the Board signed by
seven citizens requesting a Water Main be installed on
Northwest 16th, Street from Main to Northwest B Streets,
the same being referred to the: Richmond Water lNorks Corp.
,. for consideration.
The Board approved a permit by the Pure Oil Company
located at 240 Fort Wayne Avenue, to install Gas- Tanks'
within 58 feet of No. '2 Hose House located at North 8th
Street and Fort Wayne Avenue.
Permission to cut the curb was granted to Howard
Uphaus Lot 236 Reevston Addition.
Permission to cut the curb was granted to H. A. Wilsn
157 Earlham Heights Addition.
The Board ordered that the proper legal advertising
be had for the receiving of bids on the plumbing and
heating material for the new Pavilion and Rest Rooms in
Glen hiller Park bids to be accepted on the same./Nov. 8-40.
City Engineer Hodgin was instructed to investigate
and make recommendations as to the price which should be
charged for gravel on W. P. A. Projects.
IFr. P. C. McCluer was present requesting the Board to
establish a short time parking limit on the North Side of
North A Street opposite the Post Office for patrons who
are headed to the west. The Board rejected the request. •
After allowing claims in the amount of ; 5,907 .59
on proper motion they adjourned.
