OF THE BOARD OF-WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, • ''RID .Y, S F`PTE1.03ER 27,, 1940 The Board or Publics Works and -Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met - in the office of said Board Fridayy,September 27 , 1940, at 9 :00 A. M. Messrs. John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin, and Henry U. Johnson being present the following proceedings were had to..wit ; `the minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. A petition was presented to the board by the Gennett Realty- Co. reruesting an Ornamental Light be installed near the Southwest -corner of 10th and Main Street. The matter was referred to ins. Stevens Light Plant Superint- endent for a report later. - -A recuest to use the Loud Speaker System owned by the City ror the fOot ball games at Earlham College until- . - November 16th. was approved. A comblaint was presented to the Board by Mr. H.R. . Quick 301 North 21st Street, stating his wife had been r, injured on the slide used by the children at the Play Grounds in Glen Miller Park. The matter was referred to the Public Relations Committee. A petition was presented as follows;,. • We the undersigned residents, of Richmond, Indiana, living between 12th and 13th Streets on Main, request a two hour parking limit between the hrs. of 7 A. Hodgin that the foll- owing resolution be adopted. .iBE IT RESOLVED; by the Board of Public Works and . Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, September 27th, 1940, that a two hour parking limit be estab- lished on Main Street between 12th and 13th Streets from the hours of 7 A. M. to 6 P. M. except Sundays and Holidays; the same to be approved by the State Highway Commission. The resolution was approved by unanimous vote. (Cont-!d.!). 154 • The lights were to be removed at the Soft Ball diamond as soon as the playing season is over. The pipe leading from the furnace to the Chimney at No. 3 Hose House was ordered repaired. After allowing claims in the: amount of $5,690.90 on proper motion they adjourned.
