CITY OF RICI3MOND,INDIANA,
FRIDAY, SEPTBER 13, 1940.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, September 13, 1940, at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs.
John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
II The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting
was dispensed with.
A letter was presented from the Richmond water .Works
Corporation, stating they had investigated the request
for a 6inch Water Main on Northwest A• Street and they
are of the opinion that after the 6 inch main is installed
On Northwest 8th. Street fronrrain to Northwest B Street
in support of the A Street Line it will serve sufficiently,
if not they will take further steps to remedy the matter.
A petition to cut the curb was granted to the Pure .. Oil
Co. 240 Fort Wayne Avenue and to install Gasoline Tanks
not less than within 65feet of No. 2 Hose House, according
to plans presented to the Board.
A petition was presented by T. A. Holsinger requesting
permission to run a water line down an alley a distance of
60 feet adjacent to a lot located at 911 Hunt Street. The
request was rejected by the Board.
A report was presented to the Board about traffic con-
ditions at 221.nd plain Street the report stated the Child-
ren were using both traffic lanes going one way on bycycles
and etc. making I' hazardous condition. The matter was referred
to the Traffic Division.
The sum of 035.00 per month received from.W.P.A. for the
use of the Council Chamber is to be returned to that pro-
ject as a sponsers contribution to the project .
After allowing claims in the amount of $7,257 .23 on
proper motion they adjourned.
