The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office 02 said Board
Friday August 9th, 1940, at 9 :00 o ' clock A. Y. Messrs.
John R. Britten, Simeon W. Ho.dgin - d Henry U. Johnson
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
The Board approved the installation of a light at the
intersection of the alley and North D Street between
13th. and 14th Streets.
An application to use the City' s property 'or a drive-
way to the property now occupied by the old Akron Hotel
on Fort Wayne Avenue was rejected by the Board .
A Petition was presented by Louis Posther with the
signatures of 92 citizens requesting a Traffic Light be
ins5alled at South 10th. and A Streets. This was referred
to the traffic Division.
,a equest to cut the Curb -to a width of 10 feet was granted
to Robert Y. Engle located at 36 North 29th. St . Lot.-36
Marchton' Add.
A request to cut the Curb by J• Nicholls representing the
A.Pc P. Tea Co . on Lot No. 2 L. G. Arnold' s Add. located at
No; 201 South 8th Street was rejected by the Board. _
After allowing claims in the amount of :;�11,272.45
they adjourned.
