City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of -said Board Friday July 26th, 1940, at 9 :00 o'clock .A. 'M. Messrs. John, R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin..and Henry U. Johnson I/ being present the .following proceedings were had to-wit ; The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and ' approved. V A petition was presented to the Board with the sig- natures of 48 citizens requesting the extension of West gain Street from Easthaven Avenue to the corporation line. , The petition was referred to the City Attorney, . Mr. Johnson. Arequest to cut the curb to a width of 10 feet was granted to W. E. Ross 216 Reevston A.dd.- A request to cut the curb to a width of 1e feet was also granted to Marguerite F. Ferling No. 8 Reevston Addition. 'A petition wn s presented to the Board signed by 8 citizens requesting the::installation of a light on _ north llth. Street at the first alley North of J 'St. The Board approved the request. An Easment and right of way for a sewer by the City of Richmond was presented and accepted by the Board and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk from Edna Johnson and Fred B. 'ohnson. - V . A letter was received and presented to the Board from Cains lIome Appliances,, located at No.8 South 7th. street requesting a place be established in front of their " place of business and the curb painted yellow designating a. place for theta to park in the act of loading and un- loading their merchandise. The matter was referred to the Traffic Division. • V A letter was received and presented, from the Opera- ting Supt.of the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. stating they were writing their Division Office in Detroit in regard. to constructing an iron pipe barricade between the property arid the sidewalk located at South 8th and B Streets in an effort to keep people from driving across the sidewalk. they also suggest that lhr. parking be established in that . district. The matter was referred to the Traffic Division. A request to have the alley treated to keep the dust down was presented by Mrs. Etta B. Graham located on Boyer Street, this being referred to Street Commissioner Mr. Hart. ( cont 'd) 140 The loard approved the installation of a Water Main in Northwest 8th, Street From Main to Northwest B St. a Fire 14ydrant is to be placed at Northwest A. Street. The hoard approved the purchase of 36,12 inchdisci - traffic signs by the Street Department,the same..'o_c`ntod:.in places designated by the Traffic Division. The W. P. A.
