City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said - Board Friday July 12th, 1940 at 9 :00 A.M. ' Messrs. John R. Britten, Simeon. W. Hodgin and Henry U.John- son being present the following proceedings were had to-wit ; • The .Nading of the minutes of the preceeding meet- ing was dispensed with.- r, A re test `bo cut the curb to a width 'of 15 feet was granted to Norman Jenkins the same to be located at • 219 South 8th t,. ;,, • • A request to . cud: the curb loe.ated"1t2'3-=,Forth 7th --- Street Lot No. '92 C. 1.Star.'.s Addlta.on to. An application Naas pesiented to the' Board by John Lee 235 North Easthaven Ave. requesting a Freight • Loading- Zone be . located o ithe East side of south 7th Street between Tain & South .A Street and Between the two curb cuts of the Vortex Filling Station. The matter • was referred to the Traffic Division. A petition was presented signed by ten citizens on Gardner Street requesting the - installation of a Water • Main on said street from. Harris. Street to G.R.&I Rail- road. the petition was referred to Richmond Water Works Corp. ' A petition signed by several citizens and owners of realestate abutting on North 15th Street from £Torth E to D Streets and on. North E Street between 15th and 16th Streets respectfully request a time limit for par- king be established in that section,having been pre- viously presented to the Board as of March the 8th, 1940, and latter referred to the Traffic Division for recommendations , the report now reads as follows, that two hour .parking out of each three hours from 7 A.M to P.I. be established on both sides of North E Btreet . between 15th and 16th .Streets except Sundays and Hol- • idays, also that a two hour parking limit be established out of each three hours between the hours of 7 A. RBI, and 6 P. M. on the Northwest side of Fort Wayne Avenue between Neff Street and ?`forth E -7nd 8th Streets, except Sundlys and Holidays . l-_•. Jghnson ,then moved that the the. recommendations of • the Traffic Division be accepted, the motion was second by Hodgin and approved unanimous. • • ( contd ) - 137 A letter was presented to the Board from Mr. Shoe- maker of the Richmond Water Works Corp. , referring to a • petition which had been presented to the Board and ref- erred to the said Co . requesting a 6 inch Water Main be installed on Southwest 14th St. , stating they had inves- tigated the matter and in their opinion the revenue from a Water -Hain on that street would not justify the expenditure. Fire Chief Harry Williams was authorized by the I/ ' Board to have 25 new Fire hydrants installed, he to co-operate with -.fir. Shoemaker Supt. of the Richmond Water Works Corp. as to location of same. • rr. John Niewpehner was present requesting the Board to approve the repair of a portion of the street and sidewalk by the City which had to be torn up in the act of repairing a sewer already installed located near 20th E! South B Streets. The Board approved the request. The bids for coal for the various City Buildings having been received at the previous meeting July 5th, 1940, and referred to the Board as whole for tabulation and recommendations was awarded as follows ; Item No.1- 150 tons more or less West Va. Nut and Slack size li inch down, was awarded to Niewoehner Long Corp. price $4.66 per ton delivered to City Building. Item No.2-100 tons Pocahontas Mine Run delivered to Nos. 2,3,4 and 5 Hose Houses and Item_NO. 3-60 tons straight Pocahontas Pine Run delivered to Park Green- house prices $5,19 &.: 5.18 respectively per ton, was awarded to 'Sam Jaffe co-. .Inc. Item No.4-30 tons Pocahontas Mine Run delivered to Street Department Garage and Item No.5- 15 tons Kentucky Block delivered to dwellings in Glen Miller Park,also Item .No. .6 - it' tons Pocahontas Nut delivered to Police - Radio Station, was awarded to the Trimble Coal Co pricesp5.26, y 5.26 and -j 5. 51 per ton respectively.
