The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said
Board Friday, May 17th, 1940, at 9 ;00 o.: clock A. LI.
Messrs. Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson being
IIpresent the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
An application was Presented to the Board bar:.
Aam.es Anderson Kort iri ht for City-Fireman; On a
motion by .Johnson second by Eodgin`the application
was approved.
Street Commissioner Charles Hart reported an in-
vestigation had been made in regard to eauipment
for cleaning roots out of the Sewers and it can be
purchased for the sum of around p800.00.
Mr. August Bushman was present in the interest
of the Boilers at the City Building and Glenn Miller
Park.
The use of the Municipal Base-ball Park for Donkey
Base-ball was approved by the Board, the same to be
sponsored by the ' isemens Club of the local Y.M. C.A.
the amount to be paid for the use of the Ball Park
being 15% of the Gross receipts with guarantee of
25.00 per day or any part thereof.
After allowing claims to the amountof $5,229 .20
they adjourned.
