OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, APRIL 19'1'H,1940
The Board of public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday, April 19th, 1940 at 9:00 o 'clock A. M. Messrs.
John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read.
A petition with several signatures was presented to
the Board, requesting extended services�:,or the City Buss
Line on South 5th,.Street, South of G Street, and Liberty
Pike to Test Road. A letter was also presented fuom J. L.
Alyea' local Superintendent of the Indiana Railroad, stating
the territory had been gone over thoroughly and they did
not feel there was enough inhabitants alomg the said •route
to justify the additional extension,this :mattes was deferred.
A report was presented from the Committee appointed to
tabulate the bids on Fire Rose as follows ;
After careful consideration of the bids on Fire Hose,
as to quality, price, guarantee, and etc . we recommend
• to the Board of Works & Safety that you buy 600 feet of
Fabrick Fire Hose, Buckeye Brand, at $1.15 per ft. , with
couplings , as is specified in their bid. Signed by H. E.
Williams, E. H. Duckett and C.B. Hart , Committee.
Mr. Xohnson then moved that the report of the Committee
be accepted and the bid be awarded to the Fabric Fire Hose
00. for the sum of , 1.15 per foot, the motion was second by
Hodgin and approved.
Mr. C. B. Hart Street Commissioner reported the down-
spouts from the Wayne Works building in the alley between
North 16th and 17 Streets was tarring water into the alley
and onto North H Street sufficient to cause some damages
to the street. The matter was referred to City Attorney
Johnson.
After allowing claimgtto the amount of $13,082.84
they adjourned.
