The Board of Public Works and Safety of the
City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the off ice of
said Board Friday, March 1st, 1940 at 9 :00 o' clock
A. M. Messrs . John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin
111 and Henry U. Johnson being present the following
proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were
read and approved.
A contract with the West Disinfecting Co ato
furnish disinfect to be used in the various Parks
of the City was approved.
An agreement with theWPDM Municipal Police
Radio Station located at Dayton, Ohio and WPDH
local Municipal Police Radio Station, was approved
by tne Board, stating as follows ;
WHEREAS, The Federal Communications Commission
requires that all: applications for construction:
permits and for station licenses in the emergency
Service using frequencies above 30 Magacycles
within a radius of approximately 40 miles of the
proposed station, shall, have attached to said .°app-
lication for such license a statement to the effect
that an agreement has been made with the surround-
ing .licensees concerning the assignment and use of
all frequencies, and whereas such an agreement has
been made by the above mentmoned licensees. Now there-
fore, the said licensees agree as follows ;
That the party of the second part is agreeable to
assignment of 3lTn0. . . .Kilocycles by the Federal
Communications Commission to the party of the first
part, to be used for Municipal Police Mobile Emergency
Service within the areas surrounding the above menti-
oned Cities . It is further agreed that should inter-
ference�.arise form the arrangement , conditions exist-
, ing at that time will be amicably adjusted by the party
of the first part to the satisfaction of the party of
the second part.

Messrs. Stevens, Beck and Mott of the I.ni-
cipal Electric Light Plant and Messrs. Green,
Fowler and Brehm of the Industrial League for
Soft Ball were present in the interest of hav-
ing lights installed in Clear Creek Park for
Soft Ball.
Plans were presented aloe; with estimates
for the installation of Elegy:• . Flood Lights in
Clear Creek Park and after some discussion
the Board approved the plans for the Flood. ;
Lights and ordered the same installed by the
Municipal Electric Light Plant according to
the estimates and the plans presented by its
officers.
A Petition was presented with the signatures
of fourteen citizens and freeholders requesting
lights be installed in Ravinia Park, the ornam-
ental polls having already been installed the
Board approved the same,and ordered the lights
installed, and referred to thy::-Municipal Light
Plant offices, according to previous estimates.
Plans were presented along with estimates for
the installation of lights in EarlHin. Heights Add-
ition, the Board approved the same as presented
and ordered the lights installed, this also being
referred to the offices of the Municipal Light
Plant.
After allowing Claims to the amount of ,'7 ,197 .57
they adjourned.
