The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday, January 26, 1940, at 9 :00 o 'clock A. rb .
Messrs. John R. .Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry
U. donnson ceing present .the following proceedings
were had to-wit ; I/
The minutes of the preceeding meetings were appro-
ved as read.
A Resolution was presented to the Board in regard
to final settlement of Auditorium-Gymnasium the same
was approved for submission to Regional Director for
P. W. A. approval before final action shall be taken.
Fire Chief Harry Harry:Williams apPraved the clos-
ing of the alley running South From Main Street bet-
ween 8th and 9th street to a distance of about 95ft. ,
stating in his opinion such an alley was to narrow
for the fire equipment to operate in.
Chief of Police Ellis Duckett also approved the clo-
sing of the said alley.
After allowing Claims to the amount of $3,700 .04
they adjourned.
