FRIDAY, J ANUARY 19TH,1940.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the
City of Richmond,Indiana, met in the office of
said Board,Friday, January 1Dth, 1940, at 9 :00

being present the folloBing proceedings were had
to-wit ; I/
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were dis-
pensed with.
The Clerk was' ordered to notify by letter the
Richmond Home Teleplone and the City Ta .i- C:ab':Opm
panies to remove all their telephones on the streets
and sidewalks ,used by them, said locations being at
16th and Main Sts , Sheridan and Grant Streets, West
5th'..and Main Streets ,&South 8th and E Streets.
The_ 'ollowing resolution was adopted and approved;
That,cthe foreman and the men working on the W. P. A.
Project repairing the jatl at the City Bldg. be comm-
ended for the efficient manner in which it had been
handeled and the Job in general conducted. A copy of
the said Resolution to be mailed to John K. Jennings
State W. P. A. Administrator and Charles Huffman lo-
cal foreman.
A letter of resignation was presented from Thomas
E. Yott Police Radio Operator, stating his resignation
would become effective at 6 :00 P. M. January 25th,1940.
A summons was presented served on the City of Richmond
by the Wayne Circuit Court to appear February 3-1940 on
a petition to vacate a public alley on complaint of Ben-

The Board ordered the Traffic Control Boxes be changed
from the present location to the South West corner of the
basement in the City Building with automatic control swit-
ches, one in the Police Department and one in the Fire
Department.
After allowing claims to the amount of $34, 666 .37
they adjourned.
