Board Friday, January 5th, 1940,at 9:00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs. John 'R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson being present the following proceedings.were had to-wit; The minutes of the preseeding meeting were read and approved. • Mr. Johnson moved that the salary- of O. J. Scott City Building custodian be increased to One Hundred Dollars per month, second by Hodgin, was approved unanimous. A Petition to cut the curb in fromt of lots Nos. 139 and 140 Peacock Terrace 2nd ftddition North West Tenth Street, in two places to a width of 8 feet, was granted to Oliver M.Hawkins. Friday January 5th 1940, being the date desi- gnated by the Board for the acceptance of bids on:. two cars for the Police Department , bids were as follows; Chenoweth Motor Company. The committee appointed to tabulate the bids were Menses. Hodgin, Johnson and .Duckett. After abulating' the-°`aids the committee recommended the purchase of Item No.2 from the Chenoweth Motor CO. for the sum of ;1081.00':wit'� a,::trade in i_allowanoe of $555.00 leaving a balance of $526.00 to be paid. Also Item No. 1 including alternate No. 1 from the Wallar Motors Inc. for the sum of $924.41 with a trade in allowance of $350.00 leaving a balance to be paid of $574.41 Mr. Johnson moved that the report ofithe Committee be accepted, second by Hodgin, was approved unanimous and the cars so ordered purchased by the Police Depart- ment. - - (cont) 67 After allowing claimes to the amount of $19,123.15 • they adjourned. • Attest; L g rman Clerk of the Board . •
