HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-30-1939 69 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MONDAY, OCTOBER 30th,1939 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana, met in the Office of the said Board Monday, October 30th, 1939 , at 9:00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. John R. Britten and S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit ; The minutes of the preceeding meeting weredis- pensed with. The reFeular meeting of the Board of Works Friday October 27th was posponed until Monday October 30th on the account of the members of the Board attending the Municipal League Convention, at Kokomo , Indiana. A petition signed by several citizens , was presen- ted to the Board requesting a water main be installed on North 18th Street from F to J. Street, this being referredo the Richmond Water Works.= Corporation for their consideration. A dedication of a part of a strip off land was pre- sented to the City of Richmond and approved by, the .Board of Public Works for the purpose of opening a 'street, known as Whitewater Boulevard, from Robert H. Price and Minnie C. Price his wife. A portion of land for the purpose of opening and widening a street known as South G .Street, was ded.i- cated and granted t-.o the City of Richmond, by Harry W. Gilbert and Indiana Gilbert his wife. A request for the improvement of the entrance of South K Street at the intersection of South 5th St - reet was referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner. Mr. Joseph Frisby in charge of the City Parks reported the flooring in the stage at foot of Roosevelt Hill was in bad condition, this was referred to, City Engineer.Park swings were also ordered repaired dur- ing the winter months.
